Sausage and Mushroom Penne in a Rose Sauce


pasta, penne works well
1 lb ground hot Italian sausage
1 medium onion, diced
2 garlic cloves
6 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 c white wine
20 oz can tomato sauce
2 tsp italian seasoning
1 c cream

shredded parmesan
fresh basil


Bring a pot of salted water to boil and cook the pasta by the directions on the package, timing it to be finished about the time the sauce is done.

Remove sausages from their casings and break it up and cook the sausage in a large skillet. Add the onions, garlic and mushrooms and saute on medium high heat.

Add the tomoato sauce, italian seasoning and bring it to a boil. Drop the heat to medium low and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally

Add the cream and cook it just long enough to heat up.

In a large serving dish or pot, stir the penne and sauce and stir together well.

Serve with some fresh basil and parmesan
