1 lb ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (about 3/4 cup)
1.5 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
1 bay leaf
20 oz can of diced tomatoes
10 oz can of condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup rice
Brown the ground beef
Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 25 minutes
Remove bay leaf, cover with grated cheese and let cheese melt.
